Jeff Van Gundy

Jeff Van Gundy is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently an analyst for ESPN'>ESPN and ABC, and was formerly the head coach of the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets.

Jeff Van Gundy is an American basketball coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the NBA'>NBA’s Houston Rockets. He is also a television analyst for ESPN'>ESPN.

Van Gundy was born in Hemet, California in 1962. He attended Alhambra High School in Martinez, California, where he was a three-year letterman in basketball. He then attended Menlo College in Atherton, California, where he was a four-year letterman in basketball and a two-year letterman in baseball.

Van Gundy began his coaching career in 1989 as an assistant coach at Providence College. He then moved on to become an assistant coach for the New York Knicks in 1989. He was promoted to head coach of the Knicks in 1996 and led the team to the NBA'>NBA Finals in 1999. He left the Knicks in 2001 and became the head coach of the Houston Rockets in 2003. He led the Rockets to the playoffs in each of his first four seasons with the team.

Van Gundy has also been a television analyst for ESPN'>ESPN since 2007. He is a regular contributor to the network’s NBA'>NBA coverage, including the NBA'>NBA Finals.

Van Gundy is known for his intense coaching style and his ability to motivate his players. He is also known for his defensive strategies, which have helped the teams he has coached to be successful. He is widely respected in the NBA'>NBA and is considered one of the top coaches in the league.
