Kobe Bryant was an American professional Basketball'>basketball player who played his entire 20-year career in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, and 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 23, 1978 and was drafted into the NBA straight out of high school in 1996. He spent his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five NBA championships, two NBA Finals MVP awards, and one regular season MVP award. He was an 18-time All-Star, a 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, and a 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team. He was also the first guard in NBA history to play at least 20 seasons.

Kobe was known for his work ethic, his competitive drive, and his ability to make big shots in clutch moments. He was also known for his “Mamba Mentality”, which was his approach to the game and life in general. He was a leader on and off the court, and was a mentor to many of the younger players in the league.

Kobe was also an accomplished Businessman'>businessman, launching his own production company, Granity Studios, in 2018. He was also an Academy Award-winning Storyteller'>storyteller, winning the award for Best Animated Short Film in 2018 for his film “Dear Basketball'>Basketball”.

Kobe tragically passed away in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020, along with his daughter Gianna and seven other passengers. He was 41 years old. His death sent shockwaves throughout the world, and he was remembered by fans, players, and coaches alike. He was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball'>Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.
