Larry Brown

Larry Brown is an American basketball coach who has won both an NCAA championship and an NBA championship. He is currently the head coach of the SMU Mustangs men's basketball team.

Larry Brown is an American basketball coach who has had a long and successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is best known for his time as head coach of the Detroit Pistons, where he led the team to an NBA championship in 2004. Brown has also coached the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Indiana Pacers, the New Jersey Nets, and the Charlotte Bobcats.

Brown was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1940. He attended Long Beach City College and the University of North Carolina, where he played basketball and was a member of the 1957 NCAA championship team. After college, Brown played professionally in the American Basketball League and the Eastern Professional Basketball League.

Brown began his coaching career in 1972, when he was hired as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets. He then moved on to the ABA, where he coached the Carolina Cougars and the Denver Nuggets. In 1976, Brown was hired as the head coach of the Denver Nuggets, and he led the team to the ABA championship in 1977.

In 1979, Brown was hired as the head coach of the New Jersey Nets, and he led the team to the NBA Finals in 1981. He then moved on to the San Antonio Spurs, where he coached the team to the playoffs in 1983 and 1984.

In 1985, Brown was hired as the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, and he led the team to the playoffs in 1986 and 1987. He then moved on to the Indiana Pacers, where he coached the team to the playoffs in 1988 and 1989.

In 1993, Brown was hired as the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, and he led the team to the playoffs in 1994 and 1995. He then moved on to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he coached the team to the NBA Finals in 2001.

In 2003, Brown was hired as the head coach of the Detroit Pistons, and he led the team to an NBA championship in 2004. He then moved on to the New York Knicks, where he coached the team to the playoffs in 2006 and 2007.

In 2008, Brown was hired as the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, and he led the team to the playoffs in 2010. He then moved on to the SMU Mustangs, where he coached the team to the NCAA tournament in 2015.

Brown is currently the head coach of the SMU Mustangs. He has been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and has won numerous awards, including the NBA Coach of the Year Award in 2001 and the NBA Championship in 2004.
