Lenny Wilkens

Lenny Wilkens is a former professional Basketball'>basketball player and Coach'>coach. He was inducted into the Basketball'>Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998 and is the only person to be inducted as both a player and a Coach'>coach.

Lenny Wilkens is a legendary Basketball'>basketball player and Coach'>coach who has been inducted into the Basketball'>Basketball Hall of Fame twice, once as a player and once as a Coach'>coach. He is the only person to have achieved this feat. Wilkens was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1937 and attended Boys High School in Brooklyn. He was a standout Basketball'>basketball player in high school and college, and was drafted by the St. Louis Hawks in 1960. He played for the Hawks, Seattle SuperSonics, and Cleveland Cavaliers during his 14-year NBA career.

Wilkens was a nine-time All-Star'>All-Star and was named the NBA All-Star'>All-Star Game MVP in 1971. He was also a two-time NBA champion, winning with the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979 and the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1973. After his playing career, Wilkens became a Coach'>coach and was named the head Coach'>coach of the Seattle SuperSonics in 1969. He went on to Coach'>coach the Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Atlanta Hawks. He was named the NBA Coach'>Coach of the Year in 1994 and was inducted into the Basketball'>Basketball Hall of Fame as a Coach'>coach in 1998.

Wilkens is the all-time leader in Coach'>coaching wins in the NBA with 1,332 wins. He was also the first Coach'>coach to lead two different teams to the NBA Finals. Wilkens was inducted into the Basketball'>Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1989 and was named one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players in 1996. He was also named one of the NBA’s 10 Greatest Coach'>Coaches in 1996. Wilkens is a member of the FIBA'>FIBA Hall of Fame and the National Collegiate Basketball'>Basketball Hall of Fame. He is currently the head Coach'>coach of the Seattle Storm of the WNBA.
