Leonardo was born in 1452 in the small town of Vinci, Italy. He was the illegitimate son of a prominent notary and a peasant woman. He was raised by his father and received a basic education in Latin, mathematics, and geometry. At the age of 14, he was apprenticed to the renowned artist Andrea del Verrocchio in Florence. During his apprenticeship, he learned the basics of painting, sculpting, and engineering.

Leonardo’s most famous works include the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and the Vitruvian Man. He was also a prolific inventor, creating designs for flying machines, tanks, and other military weapons. He was also a pioneer in the field of Anatomy'>anatomy, studying the human body and making detailed drawings of its internal organs.
